Elderly - Home Help

Home Help provides services specially catered for frail elderly who are homebound and aged 55 and above.

Types of services available
Meals on Wheels
Meals will be delivered for lunch and/or dinner, including weekends and public holidays. Halal food is also available at some providers.

Personal Hygiene
Frail and homebound seniors will be assisted in bathing once or twice a week.

Housekeeping
For seniors who are unable to maintain cleanliness of their homes, basic maintenance can be done once a week.

Escort / Transport
Escort / transport service will be provided to and fro for seniors who have follow-up medical appointments (non-emergency) at hospitals and/or clinics.

Laundry
Clothes will be washed clean.

Eligibility
To be eligible for Home Help, the service recipient should be a senior aged 55 and above.

Other criteria comprise:
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Living alone, with another frail senior, or with a caregiver
- Does not have a caregiver during the day
- Requires assistance with Activities of Daily Living*
- Requires regular medical check-ups and follow-ups (applicable only for escort / transport services)

(*The six Activities of Daily Living are washing/bathing, feeding, toileting, transferring, dressing, and mobility.)

Referral process 
Service recipients need to be referred by social (e.g. VWOs, FSCs, CDCs) or medical touchpoints (e.g. hospitals, polyclinics, GPs) to the Centre for Enabled Living. They are also required to provide the following documents:

- Medical history (latest inpatient discharge summary / doctor's memo)
- Social information (social report)
