Overview of Assistance Schemes
From bursaries for children from low-income families to a waiver of car registration fees, there are a number of schemes available from volunteer welfare organisations as well as the Government in Singapore to help persons needing care.
The Assistive Technology Fund, for example, helps them purchase items such as hearing aids or synthesizer software that could enable them to study or work better. Meanwhile, persons with disabilities who wish to buy a car to earn a living may apply for a waiver of the car's Additional Registration Fee and the requirement for a Certificate of Entitlement (COE).
