The Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) Foundation was set up in 1994 as APB's philanthropic arm, focusing on Creativity Development, Human Excellence and Humanitarian and Social Causes.
Towards the aim of investing in Human Excellence, the APB Foundation Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities is awarded to students who are physically-challenged or are hearing, visually or speech impaired.
Every year, the APB Foundation awards this scholarship to three students with good academic results who are currently pursuing their studies at or have gained admission to the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, or SIM University.
Each scholar will receive an annual sum of S$11,000 and be supported up to a maximum of four years. Scholars are not required to serve a bond with APB Foundation or Centre for Enabled Living (CEL) upon their graduation.
Eligibility
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Physically-challenged, or hearing, visually or speech impaired*
- Good GCE 'A' Levels and/or Polytechnic Diploma and/or University results
- Currently or will soon be a full-time undergraduate at one of the universities listed above**
- Working professionals who are keen to upgrade themselves
* Requires medical certification from a doctor
** Requires proof of admission (for soon-to-be undergraduates)
Application process
All application forms should be submitted in hard copy to CEL by 7 May 2010, and accompanied by certified true copies of the following:
- NRIC
- Latest educational certificates and examination transcripts
- GCE 'O' or 'A' Levels certificates or Diploma from a local approved polytechnic
- Testimonials (if any)
- Reference from current school principal or lecturer
- Any other document/s which may support your application
