1.  How do I apply for the Assistive Technology Fund (ATF)?

We welcome applications through recommendations by a Volunteer Welfare Organisation (VWO) or a hospital. The amount of subsidy will then be determined by the applicant's financial information such as median monthly income.

2.  A family member is disabled. What is the process of obtaining a car park label for persons with disabilities?

Class 1 car park labels are given to drivers with disabilities and Class 2 car park labels are given to persons who drive passengers with disabilities.

Levy concessions apply to elderly Singaporeans who require assistance with daily activities.

4.  I am disabled and need to obtain specialised equipment (wheelchair / walker/ software, etc.) for use in my education and workplace. Where can I obtain such equipment and where can I obtain any financial assistance to buy or rent them?
 
The Assistive Technology Fund (ATF) provides a grant for persons with disabilities to acquire the necessary assistive technology for education, training and employment purposes. The fund seeks to build competencies so as to enhance the personal advancement, productivity and employability of persons with disabilities.

The ATF will provide means-tested financial assistance of up to $10,000 per disabled person over his/her lifetime. The amount of grant provided will be up to 90%, depending on gross family income and the cost of the assistive technology device or adaptation required.

5. I am disabled and from a low income family. Where can I seek financial help in purchasing assistive devices and equipment?
 
The Special Assistance Fund (SAF) was set up by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) in 1991 to provide financial assistance to persons with disabilities from low-income families. The fund is solely for the purchase of assistive equipment or technical aids for mobility or rehabilitative purposes.

6. Please provide details of the 'LTA Cares' fund. 
 
The 'LTA Cares' Fund (previously known as Taxi Subsidy Scheme) is only provided for persons with disabilities who are unable to take public buses, the MRT, and who are fully dependent on taxis as the only mode of transportation to work or school.

7. Please provide details of the Scheme for Waiver of Additional Registration Fee (ARF) and Certificate of Entitlement (COE) For Disabled Persons.
 
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) administers a scheme for disabled persons who need assistance in buying a car to earn a living. Persons with disabilities can apply to waive Additional Registration Fees (ARF) and the requirement of a Certificate Of Entitlement (COE) in respect to the registration of a car for their personal use. The application will be jointly considered by the Committee to recommend waiving the ARF For Disabled Persons under the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS) and LTA.

9. I am employing a person with a physical disability in my company and need to make some structural modifications to the workplace to facilitate the new employee's movements. Is there any assistance scheme that I can tap into for this?
 
You can apply for a tax deduction for up to $100,000 in expenditure on building modifications for the benefit of disabled employees as stated under Sec 14(H) of the Income Tax Act. 

You can also apply to the Open Door Fund for assistance. The fund provides financial subsidies of up to $100,000 per project for companies who employ a minimum of four persons with disabilities.
