Primary Care Partnership Scheme
This scheme was set up by the Ministry of Health to enable needy elderly to gain better access to basic healthcare. As visiting a polyclinic can be inconvenient for some seniors, this scheme allows them to receive similar healthcare and basic dental services from participating general practitioners and dental clinics in their community, and at polyclinic charges.
This scheme is available at all the Community Development Councils. Click

Interim Disability Assistance Programme for the Elderly (IDAPE)
Also known as IDAPE, this scheme provides financial assistance to needy and disabled elderly who do not qualify for ElderShield due to age or pre-existing disabilities. This scheme is managed by NTUC Income. Click

Subsidies for intermediate and long-term care
In recognition of the high cost of intermediate and long-term care (ILTC), the government provides financial assistance to needy patients who need ILTC services. These subsidies are given directly to ILTC service providers who will use it to offset the bill incurred by patients who qualify. Examples of ILTC service providers are community hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, day rehabilitation centres, and home care service providers. Click

ElderShield is a severe disability insurance scheme which provides basic financial protection to those who need long-term care, especially during old age. It provides a monthly cash payout to help pay the out-of-pocket expenses for the care of a severely disabled person. The Ministry of Health has appointed Aviva, Great Eastern, and NTUC Income to provide ElderShield insurance policies. Click

Medifund
Medifund provides assistive subsidies to Singapore citizens who are unable to pay for their medical treatment at approved hospitals, medical institutions and VWO-run residential step-down care facilities.
