The role of a caregiver can be immensely fulfilling yet extremely challenging all at once. The need to undertake caregiving duties also often comes unexpectedly or with little forewarning.
Caregivers need to provide adequate and appropriate care that not only meets the physical needs, but also the psycho-emotional needs of their dependent loved ones. They also need to look out (or care) for themselves.
In doing so, caregivers and families with persons needing care* often need support – from other members of the family (internal) or from the community (external).
The following pages serve as an information resource for caregivers who seek means of external support such as financial or social assistive schemes currently available in the community.
*Persons needing care refer to frail seniors and people with disabilities.
