Integration Support Programmes

Caring for a loved one with disabilities is often an emotional journey that few without the experience find hard to understand.

However, caregivers need not keep their problems or pressures they face to themselves. A number of support programmes are designed to help them overcome the emotional, social or daily obstacles faced every day.

Providing a wide range of therapy, social assistance, educational, rehabilitation, recreation, social and support services, these integration support programmes enable caregivers and their loved ones to better embrace and integrate with mainstream society.

Dementia

The Alzheimer's Disease Association (ADA) runs Support Group meetings for caregivers looking after persons with dementia. The monthly meetings are conducted in English, Malay and Mandarin respectively and consists of talks by invited speakers followed by discussion sessions.  Difficulties in looking after a person with dementia can be brought up and solutions worked out.

For registration for these classes, please call 6737 5667 or email: infosc@alz.org.sg one week before the scheduled talk.

NOTE: We regret that the Support Group is strictly for family caregivers caring for persons with dementia.
