Children with disabilities who are aged between 2 and 6 years ago can learn alongside their regular peers in an inclusive programme offered in existing child care centres. With a natural environment for a child to play, learn, socialise and grow up in, he or she can be better prepared to enter primary education at a later stage. This is possible with the Integrated Childcare Programme (ICCP), which is funded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports. There are 18 ICCP Centres:
CEL works with these 18 centres below to provide information and referral services to these centres.
How to enrol: Parents may approach the Centre for Enabled Living (CEL) for more information on enrolment procedures. Medical social workers at hospitals will also be at hand to refer parents to CEL with the relevant documents:
While every effort will be made to place children in their preferred centres, acceptance into the ICCP programme at the preferred centre is subject to the number of vacancies at the centres and to the respective centre management's approval.
