Special Student Care Centres (SSCCs) provide before- and after-school care services to children aged between 7 to 18 with special needs, who attend either mainstream or special education schools.
SSCCs provide a conducive learning and care environment for children with special needs, enabling parents to remain in employment while their children are cared for in a safe environment outside of their schooling hours. SSCCs also provide educational support and impart social and life skills for independent living.
Parents of children with special needs can apply for the Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA) scheme administered by the Community Development Councils.
